Every year - well at least the last two years, but probably more - the tight-knit Myrtle Beach skate scene has put on a contest. Maybe a hundred people turn out, definitely more people than came to any SkateBoner release party (you guys are slacking). It's awesome to see. People huck. Little dudes who've never been in a contest before get out there and skate. I don't know if there are more slams or more laughs, but an abundance of both equals a damn good show. If more scenes were like the Myrtle Beach scene, a place where skateboarding seems like it cannot flourish, the skate world would be a better place. Thanks to all the guys who put on the contest, Irving and Garet and Tyler and Hunter and Gabe for driving and every person out there ripping and supporting what these guys are doing.
